About GetAreaCode.com
GetAreaCode.com is a fast, accurate directory of every area code in the North American Numbering Plan – built on official data, not scraped listings.

What GetAreaCode.com is
Enter an area code, a city, or a state and get the answer straight away: where the code is, which cities it covers, its time zone, overlay status, carriers, and a coverage map. It is a tool for looking things up, not a wall of thin pages – one page per code, kept current.
Where the data comes from
Population comes from the U.S. Census Bureau (Population Estimates Program, Vintage 2024); area codes, overlays, prefixes, and carriers come from NANPA assignment records; and the complaint figures come from the FTC Do Not Call data. We favor the most recent official sources over older or second-hand data. The full breakdown – including how cities map to codes and where the limits are – is on our methodology page.
What we don't do
GetAreaCode.com is a reference directory, not a people-search service. We do not run a reverse phone lookup, we do not keep a database of individual phone numbers or their owners, and we do not sell data. Complaint figures are aggregated at the area-code level only; we never label a specific number or person a scammer. An area code tells you where a number was assigned, never who is calling.
Corrections & contact
Accuracy matters more to us than page count. If a figure looks wrong, tell us through the contact form and we will fix it at the source so every page benefits. For how the numbers are produced, see the methodology.
